Jeremiah...

The sermon that we heard today was taken from Jeremiah 18 and the pastor was showing us how like the Israelite's we are in America today! Isn't it great that we who believe is Christ's shed blood are only Pilgrims here and that we were not made for this world?! All the suffering that will come upon us is there for strengthening us and making us fit for the life to come.
And, yes! God will punish America for the way it has gone. We need more than ever to study God's word so that our faith does not falter when trials come! America needs a revival!

Jeremiah 18:1-12
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.
“Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.”’”
And they said, “That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart.”

Sorry the background is white. It seems to do that whenever I copy and paste things on here... I didn't feel like typing out that section of scripture and I don't know how to fix it;)
I hope you have had a wonderful day! Did you go to church and were you encouraged? I was!

The mountains!

Yesterday we went to the mountains after church. It was a beautiful day to be out. Not to hot, not to cold!
It was very windy up at the top, though, but it felt very good!
All the girls.
The views up there are so nice!
Yeah... It was windy. : )

Here is the path that we came up.
Lydia had so much fun!

Can you see something wrong with this picture?
I bet the person up there didn't know they had an audience!
Then we went to a small but beautiful waterfall...
Me in a cool window...
And here is a close up of the mountain we climbed.
Isn't it neat?
The fall colors were gorgeous!
How are the colors where you live?

Chimney Sweep!

Yesterday Dad cleaned out the chimney like he does about ever other year. I always love it because then I can get on the roof and take pictures:)

Lydia loves climbing all the way up,
but she hasn't gotten on the roof, yet.

The view...

Looking down the ladder...

A little spider on the ladder...

Cleaning out the gutters.

The dancing chimney sweep!

From one corner of the roof.

Me!

The chimney sweep.
On the 29th was Mom's Birthday...yeah, I'm a little behind! But happy Birthday Mom!
Carrot cake!
Made by me!
The cake turned out tasting great, but it was really crumbly.
And I thought this picture was cool because it is an azalea in the fall!
Well got to get ready for church!

I'm Not Blond!

I was messing around tonight with a light that I had broken (ahem, ahem), and in the process of fixing it I decided to unplug it for safety. I took the light bulb out, fixed the problem and put the light bulb back in. Then I had to test it out so I went to turn it on. Nothing. I turned the switch again. Nothing still. After a few more tries that ended in failure I took the light bulb out and started messing around in there again. Dad says " Be careful, Priscilla!"  and I respond " Don't worry! It's unplugged!" Oh! That's why it wouldn't turn on!
No, I'm not blond!

Fall

Fall is here! Isn't it so nice to have cooler weather? Here are some random pictures I've taken...

We have a tree-house that I climbed into the other day and I thought this was a cool picture...
Our flag through the trees.

Can you guess what this is?
You may not want to know...
I just had to post to get rid of that last silly post from always coming up;)

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Hahaha!

Hahaha! Someone got on your blog because someone left it up for someone to mess with. ;)
Hello, followers of Cilla! This is her mischievous sister causing just a little bit of trouble. ;)
Well, goodbye!
I better get off before I am caught! ;)

Hats and Things

I just finished knitting a hat the other day. It is one of my favorites.  I might add a rosette later.
Can you see the needles at the top? ; )
This is before it was finished.
I like the way it fits over my head so nicely. Most of mine don't turn out like that.
Now I am making another one for my sister. : )

For a while we had been smelling a very bad smell in the fridge and then I went into a deep recess looking for something and found this...
Nasty, nasty lemon!
Isn't this pretty? We got this little set from a friend. One of her friends made it.
A sunset...
I hope you have a lovely day! I did a little bit of yard work today and the weather was beautiful! Enjoy it!

P.S. Here is the hat with the rosette...
What do you think?

When the Cat's Away, the Mice Will Play

"When the cat's away, the mice will play." I have found this little saying to be very true in certain cases. Take this one for example. Mom goes to the store about once a week. On this particular day she leaves at about 10:00 A.M. As she says her good-byes and be-goods we nod, wave and get started on our school. Then her car disappears down the driveway...and we wait...5...10 minutes, until someone can wait no longer and goes into the living room to play ship on the couch. Another and another sibling joins this one until everyone's there, and a wild game is under way. Cushions start coming off the couch, rescues are made to the drowning, and pirates are defeated! But ship gets a little dull after a while and so other games get started. We've made cushion-houses that you could hardly squeeze into; we've played King and Queen, making thrones with cushions stacked high; we've played sandwich: a cushion, a person, a cushion, a person, etc. until the top falls off; we've played pillow fight, trampoline and so on. But then, around 12:00, someone sounds the alarm: Mom is coming! There is a mad dash as the pillows are thrown back on the couches, the living room is straightened (the house, also, for the fun had spread), and everyone goes back to school. Then we calmly go outside and help bring in the groceries.
This jumping on the furniture was allowed,
since it was an old mattress,
but it still somewhat shows you how wild we were. ; )
A little side note... in this narrative you find out that we were being deceptive, which God sees as unrighteous (The wicked man does deceptive work, but he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward. Proverbs 11:18) so please do not follow our example.
Another side note... this was a really looooooong time ago... ; )
